This weblog is the online home for a program on weblogs I'll be hosting at the Sulzer Branch of the Chicago Public Library. I've created this weblog in order to have a place where I can jot down some notes, solicit some comments, list resources covering the field of weblogs and ultimately make the presentation available to the rest of the blogosphere.
Feel free to comment on any aspect of the program, the resources or the blogosphere in general. I'm more than happy to offer author status to anyone who would like to contribute to this topic.
Posted by kiplog at September 18, 2002 12:25 PMI'm curious about the program on weblogs you'll be hosting. It sounds interesting. Is it open to local community? What is the goal or agenda of the program? I suppose I just need to stay tuned to your blog, eh?
Posted by: xian on September 20, 2002 06:20 PMIt's completely open and free to the community, local or otherwise.
I was asked by the Sulzer regional branch of the Chicago Public Library to do a short program on weblogs - an intro really - into what a blog is, where to find them and a little on how to start one. The original idea was to stay at a very introductory level. However having some smart local webloggers on a panel (See the Details post for more), I'm sure we'll delve into the deeper aspects of the subject.
I really don't have a goal, other than make newer or prospective bloggers in the audience more familiar with the wide range of weblogs, and the issues, both technical and social, invloved in running a weblog.
